Hainan’s growth rate of foreign trade ranks 10th in China in Q1 of 2014
The latest figures from Haikou Customs show the surprisingly strong foreign trade growth of Hainan, and the growth rate of Hainan foreign trade in the first three months of 2014 was 13% higher than the national average level, ranking 10th among China’s main provincial regions.
From January to March, the foreign trade volume in Hainan province was 24.51 billion yuan ($4.01 billion), an increase of 9.3% over the same period of last year excluding foreign exchange.
The export volume amounted to 3.66 billion yuan, a decrease of 5.9%, and the import volume was 18.85 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8%.
