More than 10 female members of the Hainan Armed Police Corps were on duty to provide security during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2014, that is held in south China’s Hainan Province from April 8 to 11, 2014.

This is the first time that female soldiers were on duty at the Boao Forum for Asia. Given  the fact that most of them did not have experience in security, the corps had arranged for them to undergo a tough training regime before they went on duty.

Wang Ying, who is head of the team, is a soldier severing in the logistics division. Wang was strict both with other soldiers and herself during the training sessions to successfully prepare the team for the task ahead of them.

Political, business, and academic leaders are gathering in Hainan for this year’s Boao Forum for Asia. Premier Li Keqiang gave a speech during the event on April 10.

The theme of the four-day meeting is "Asia’s New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers". Discussions have been held around the issues of reform, innovation, and sustainable development. Participants tried to explore new ways to reform emerging Asian economies.

Issues include the regional and global financial situation, infrastructure construction, regional free trade and a multilateral trade mechanism. The Forum says its mission is promoting common development among Asian countries through further integration of the regional economy.
