Hainan airports gears up for 2014 Boao Forum for Asia
The passenger throughput of Sanya is expected to rapidly increase during the Qingming Festival & the 13th Annual Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) 2014.
To meet the increasing demand from tourists, China Southern Airlines (Hainan Branch) has added two more flights including a Sanya-Yangzhou-Harbin route and a Sanya-Yuncheng-Harbin route during the period, bringing the number of its air routes in Hainan to 54.
According to the airlines company, daily flights departing from and arriving at the Hainan airports has increased to 114, up 11% compared to usual.
To help further improve the efficiency of airport services for the Boao Forum for Asia, the number of temporary aircraft aprons at Haikou Meilan Airport has increased from 10 to 32. Meanwhile, the airport also is providing a special space to accommodate VIP planes and business jets at the passenger aprons and on other isolated aprons.
