Hainan province saw its foreign trade value for the first two months of this year increase 20.7% year on year to RMB 18.04 billion, according to statistics released by the Haikou Customs.

 

From Jan to Feb, the province saw its export value grow 7.6% year on year to US$3.91 billion, while its import value amounted to US$14.13 billion, reflecting a year on year increase of 24.8%.

 

The province's foreign-invested enterprises generated RMB 14.11 billion in foreign trade value in the first two months, accounted for 78.2% of the province's total, while its private enterprises realized RMB 3.6 billion in foreign trade value, up 27.8% year on year.

 

In the first two months, Hainan's foreign trade with ASEAN surge 82.6% from a year earlier to RMB 3.52 billion, while its foreign trade with Middle East rose 66.8% year on year to RMB 7.14 billion.
