Hainan Women’s Federation launches campaign to help local children
The campaign also includes donating books, book desks and chairs to children from impoverished families.
At the beginning of this year, the Women’s Federation of south China’s Hainan Province launched a campaign with ten activities to help local children. Currently, they have carried out three of them.
The first was led by Hainan Women’s Federation’s vice-president Li Youwu, who has gone to seven cities and counties and sent funds and necessities to ‘left-behind’ children, children from single-parent families, and children with hearing impairments.
Hainan Women’s Federation continues to develop its ‘Spring Bud Project’ through extensive mobilization of social forces to participate in the charity activity, benefiting more needy children. This year, the Provincial Association of Industry and Commerce and the Committee of the 13th ‘Virtual and Happy China’ Forum donated 50,000 yuan (US$ 8,130) to build a school in a deep mountain area of Nanding, Hongshan Country, Wuzhishan City. Meanwhile, the Haidao Badminton Club donated 50,000 yuan (US$ 8,130) to the Haidao ‘Spring Bud’ class at Longhe Town Central School in Ding’an County.
The campaign also includes donating books, desks and chairs to children from impoverished families. It aims to mobilize social forces to participate in charity and create a better learning environment for economically disadvantaged children, so that they grow up happy in society’s care. As of now, it has sent donations to 778 families and helped numerous children go to school.
