Xisha Islands
Hainan is planning to introduce new cruise operators to visit or open a new cruise route to Xisha Islands, according to a marine tourism development plan unveiled in Haikou last Friday.
Starting from April, a Chinese cruise ship will launch 13 trial voyages to the islands, transporting over 2,000 passengers.
To further develop tourism on the Xisha Islands, Hainan will accelerate the construction of the accompanying tourism facilities and will draft plans to launch new routes and make other improvements to meet the demands of high-end tourists.
Besides, the government will develop a batch of attractive tourism-themed products like rural tourism, rainforest tourism, cruise tourism and healthcare tourism in 2014
