Hainan’s cross-border cruise tourism becomes popular
In order to boost cruise tourism, a series of new measures aimed at simplifying the travel procedures for cross-border cruise tours were launched by the Hainan government on 13th November 2013.
The measures allow Chinese citizens to directly apply for permits for cross-border cruise tours at frontier inspection departments in Hainan, so avoiding the inconvenience of applying for the permits at their registered place of residence, which benefits 50% of cross-border cruise tourists in each voyage.
Meanwhile, the whole procedures for permits have been simplified, and the time needed for approval also been greatly shortened.
These measures bring about a rapid growth of cross-border cruise tourists in Hainan Island.
