Starwood Hotels and Resorts is planning to expand its presence in Hainan with 3 more hotel brands operated over the next 5 years, according tot the regional manager of Starwood Hainan Region.

 

Starwood’s presence in Hainan dates back to 2003 as the Sheraton Sanya Resort debuted as its first international hotel in Sanya. At present, the number of Starwood Hainan hotels’ reaches 10, covering 6 of its 9 group brands. The total guest rooms exceed 3,700, making it top other international hotel management groups in the hotels and guestrooms in Hainan region.

 

 

The 10 renowned Starwood Hainan hotels include The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort, Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort & Spa, Haitang Bay Sanya Sheraton and The Yuhaitang Luxury Collection Royal, Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, Four Points by Sheraton Hainan, Sanya.

 

 

Over the next three or five years, Starwood will continue its expansion in Hainan. The Westin Haikou Resort is scheduled to open for business in 2014. Apart from its existing Hainan resorts, Starwood has plans to bring other three luxury brands including W Hotels, Aloft Hotels and Element Hotels to double its footprint here.
