Hainan ranks third among the top 6 Chinese cities in hotel rates, according to the “Statistics bulletin of China’s star-rated hotels in the third quarter of 2013” released by the National Tourism Administration recently.

The report shows that the third quarter of 2013 saw a 335.44 yuan average hotel rate with a 59.39% occupancy rate of China’s star-rated hotels.

Shanghai leads the top 6 Chinese cities in hotel rates, followed by Beijing, Hainan, Guangdong, Qinghai and Tianjin, in that order. And the top 6 Chinese cities for hotel occupancy rates are, in order, Hunan, Tibet, Guizhou, Shandong, Beijing and Liaoning.

The top 10 Chinese cities in average room rates are Shanghai, Xining, Sanya, Qingdao, Beijing, Xiamen, Hohhot, Changsha, Shenzhen and Chengdu.
