The 4th Roundtable conference on China-Africa Cooperation 2013 was held in Wanning City on November 20th.

On November 20th, the 4th Roundtable conference on China-Africa Cooperation 2013 was held in Wanning City of Hainan Island for the third time, and more than 40 government officials, former leaders and politicians from African countries attended the conference.

Chen Zhirong, the vice-governor of Hainan province, stressed in his remarks that the Roundtable was an important platform for the opening-up of Hainan Island, the Hainan government would take further measures to actively promote tourism cooperation between the two countries, and boost the cooperation between Hainan and Africa in all fields including agriculture.

Themed ‘Share the common fate, seek win-win cooperation’, the event consisted of the China-Africa Entrepreneurs’ Forum, the China-Africa Agricultural Collaboration Seminar, the signing ceremony for the China-Africa Cooperation and Exchanges Promotional Base and the foundation laying ceremony of the Roundtable’s permanent venue in Wanning.

During the China-Africa Agricultural Collaboration Seminar led by the Hainan government, attendees held an in-depth discussion of a series of important issues including the food security and the sustainable development of agriculture, with an aim to reach a consensus on the practical agricultural cooperation between Africa and China, especially Hainan.
