Haikou Meilan International Airport this year has operated a total of 3,569 international flights as of 7th November, an increase of 10.4 percent year-on-year, according to authorities from Meilan Airport.

The number of inbound passengers reached 440,340, an increase of 17.1 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

Taiwan, Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong Kong have become the largest inbound tourist sources for Haikou.

During the summer of 2013, the average load factors of flights between Haikou and Taiwan recorded 84.4 percent, up 8.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The number of Taiwan passenger hit 22,800, up 15.62 percent year-on-year.

Taiwan surpassed Russia and became the largest inbound tourist source for Hainan during the period of January to September in 2013.
