Recently, Hainan Provincial Ocean and Fishery Bureau has approved the proposal of the first phase construction of Ruyi Island Project in Haikou.
 
Located at the east coast of Haikou, Ruyi Island is a man-made island reclaimed from the sea. The first phase of the project will occupy an area of 247.92 hectares, with the initial investment of no less than 23 billion yuan for land building.
 
The first phase construction includes 13 projects for leisure, ocean-themed park, fashion, arts, super-star hotels, meeting and conference, central plaza, exhibition, commercial finance and green landscapes.
 
According to the proposal, the infrastructure on the island will be basically completed in 3 years with investment of 50 billion yuan. The island will become an international fashion complex and high-end tourism resort in Haikou in the future.
