As wedding tourism has emerged as a profitable and fast-growing industry in Hainan, local travel agencies and wedding-related enterprises are now seeking cooperation to promote local wedding tourism.

Mr.Guo, the general manager of Hainan Yehui Travel Agency, said his company had received over 600 tourists for honeymoons and weddings between May and August, an increase of 200 people compared to the same period of the previous year, thanks to cooperation with local enterprises such as photography firms, hotels and scenic spots.

In order to attract more honeymoon and wedding couples, local wedding-related enterprises have been strengthening cooperation to develop various themed wedding tourism packages.

Local tourism authorities said Hainan is among the top honeymoon and wedding destinations in China and that there’s huge potential to increase the weddings and honeymoons segment. Cooperation between wedding-related enterprises will not only boost local wedding tourism, but also the catering and hotel sectors.

According to reports, a wedding tourism branch association is to be jointly established in November by Hainan Tourism Development Commission and local wedding related-businesses, with the aim of integrating local wedding tourism resources and strengthening exchanges and cooperation between local wedding enterprises.

A selection campaign for The Top Ten Wedding Tourism Products, jointly organized by Hainan Daily Newspaper Group and Hainan Tourism Development Commission, will also be launched in November to promote the brand-building of local wedding tourism.
