An Expresspay Card distributed by China Railway & Banking Expresspay Co., Ltd. for use on Hainan East Ring high-speed rail routes will be sold to the passengers at selected railway stations in Hainan starting from October 8th.

Cards can be purchased at designated windows in stations including Sanya Station, Qionghai Station, Haikou Station and Haikou East Station.

Beginning on October 15th, cardholders will be able to simply swipe their card at turnstiles to board the “D” trains running on Hainan East Ring High-speed Railway. Cards can only be used in place of second-class tickets, and a certain number of these seats have been reserved for this new service.

In addition, passengers can also use the funds on the Expresspay card to buy tickets through other channels, such as ticket windows at railway stations, self-service ticket-vending machines and the website of the China Railway Customer Service Center (www.12306.cn).

The card's use is limited to the cardholder, who can recharge their card at designated prepaid service sites in railway stations. Funds on the card do not gain interest, and they cannot go overdrawn.
