According to the Hainan Mountaineering Association, the 2013 National Mass Climbing Fitness Assembly (Baoting station) & Qixianling Mountain Climbing Competition is to kick off at the Baoting Qixianling National Forest Park in Hainan on October 13th, the day of the Chinese traditional lunar Double Ninth Festival.

Climbing enthusiasts from Hainan and other provinces will get together with local people in Baoting County to climb the 4,700 meter mountain road that connects Baoting County Party Committee Party School Square to the entrance of Qixianling Mountain.

The National Mass Climbing Fitness Assembly, organized by the Chinese Mountaineering Association, has been held successfully for 11 years across the country since 2002 and 2 editions were held in Hainan, with more than 10 provinces and millions of people attracted to participate in the event each year.
