Modest to heavy rain will hit northeast China and parts of northwest China in the coming three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Saturday.

A cold snap will bring modest to heavy rainfall in parts of northeast China on Saturday, as well as a temperature drop of 4 to 8 degrees Celsius in the east-central parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and some areas in northeast China and north China, the observatory said.

Some of the affected regions will see a sharp temperature drop of 10 degrees Celsius, accompanied by winds of 4 to 5 degrees, the NMC added.

From Sunday to Monday, the southwestern part of Inner Mongolia, the northern part of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Shaanxi Province will also experience modest to heavy rain, according to the observatory.

The observatory also forecast rainfall in parts of Yunnan, Guangdong and Hainan provinces in the coming three days.
