According to statistics from Haikou Customs, Hainan’s export value in August 2013 reached 2.29 billion yuan ($370 million), an increase of 86.2% over the same period of last year, with its export growth ranking 3rd in China.

 

In August, the export of petroleum products, urea products, solar photovoltaic products and paper products increased significantly, with the export volume of petroleum products, urea products, solar photovoltaic products, paper products and agricultural products accounting for 77% of the total export value of Hainan province.

Hong Kong, the United States and the ASEAN countries were Hainan’s major export markets in August. The total export values to Hong Kong, the United States and ASEAN countries were $130 million, $42.33 million and $92.72 million respectively, with increases of 140%, 89.8% and 200%.
