China Southern Airlines Hainan Branch has said that booking rates on flights departing Hainan rose to a record of 95 percent during the summer vocation, as relatively cool temperatures brought the province a summer tourism peak.

Bookings on flights from Hainan to cities including Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Beijing were reported to be higher than 98%, mainly thanks to students.

China Southern Airlines say they have introduced a new Airbus A320 airplane in order to meet demand. New flights between Haikou and cities including Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou have also been added, with the daily flights between Haikou and Beijing increased to 7.

The summer travel peak is expected to continue until mid-September, after the new school term has started, officials from China Southern Airlines have said.
