Wanning’s Xinglong town is to offer free wifi in public areas to give residents and visitors Internet access, Hainan Daily reports.

According to reports, the town will make its network available in hotels, parks, streets and other public places, with an investment of 4 million yuan in network infrastructure made by China Telecom.

The move is one of the measures taken by the Municipal Government of Waning to build the city into an intelligent tourism city.

Installation work of the project is currently underway, and the free wifi will be available in one month.
