A meeting attended by representatives of tourism spots across Hainan was held 15th August to discuss measures to further boost the province’s wedding photography industry.

Since the first international wedding festival was in Hainan in 1997, the province has enjoyed rapid growth in its wedding photography economy.

Huang Ying, the sales manager of the Daxiao Dongtian Resort in Sanya, said they had received more than 8000 visitors for wedding photography by the end of July thanks to a series of promotional activities jointly launched by the resort.

Other tourism spots have also taken active steps to take advantage of their tourism resources and develop the wedding photography market.

Chen Yijian, the general manger of the Sanya Bird’s Nest Resort, said the area was used as a filming location for the hit movie If You Are The One II in 2010, something that has subsequently been used to help build the resort into a popular destination for wedding photography.

The local government has also launched measures to further expand the wedding tourism market.

A series of wedding tourism promotional campaigns has been launched both domestically and abroad recently.

In June, Hainan kicked off its wedding tourism promotional campaign in South Korea. Promotional campaigns are also confirmed in countries including Russia, Germany, and the United States.
