According to China Southern Airlines, the average daily passenger load factor of flights to Hainan has risen significantly as the province embraces its tourism peak during the summer vacation.

Statistics show that the average daily passenger load factor of flights to Hainan has hit 95% during the summer vacation to date, with those of some flight routes exceeding 98%.

Student groups contribute greatly to the increase as they are enjoying their summer holiday, officials from China Southern Airlines said.

As a response to the travel peak, China Southern Airlines has introduced a new Airbus A320 airplane. New flights have also been added between Haikou and cities including Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Officials from China Southern Airlines said the summer travel peak is expected to continue until September after the new school term starts.
