3 new highways in Hainan to start construction by end of 2013
According to Hainan Transportation Department, the province is to start building 3 new highways by the end of 2013.
The 3 new highways include a highway from Qiongzhong County to Wuzhishan City and Ledong County, a highway from Wanning to Danzhou and Yangpu, and a highway between Wenchang and Qionghai, which all are scheduled to be opened to traffic in 2015.
The highway from Qiongzhong County to Wuzhishan City and Ledong County will stretch over 127.612 kilometers and pass through the mountainous region of south-central Hainan, becoming be the most convenient highway linking Haikou and Sanya.
The highway from Wanning to Danzhou and Yangpu Highway will stretch 165 kilometers and pass through 5 counties and cities including Wanning, Qionghai, Tunchang, Qiongzhong and Danzhou.
With a total length of 65.7 kilometers, the highway linking Wenchang to Qionghai Highway will start from Yinbing Road of Wenchang city along the Hainan East Ring High-speed Railway, and link up with the G98 Hainan Ring Expressway.
