According to a conference organized by Hainan Tourism Development Committee on August 2nd, Hainan received 16.9747 million overnight visitors in the first half of 2013, with its total tourism revenue reaching 18.105 billion yuan, up 16.5% over the same period of last year.

From January to June 2013, Hainan received a total of 16.5685 million domestic overnight visitors, an increase of 9.1% over the same period of last year, 22.81% of whom were from Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and other regions in Southern China.

Besides, there were a total of 406,200 inbound overnight visitors visiting Hainan island in the first half of 2013, including 75,700 Taiwanese tourists, 3,800 Macao tourists and 10,600 South Korean tourists, up 1.5%, 5.6%, and 7.19% over the same period of last year.

The top ten inbound tourist markets of Hainan from January to June were Taiwan, Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Germany and Thailand.
