60 electric buses and 253 electric taxis will be put into service in Haikou in the second half of 2012.

To reduce the energy consumption and improve the air quality, the city more than 347 new energy buses and taxis have been put into operation on the city’s roads.

As of now, Haikou has opened 7 bus lines and optimized the length of 14 bus routes.

In addition, more than 17 bus lines will be optimized to uplift the public transport facilities in the city’s remote areas.

There are more than 1,100 buses operated in Haikou, among which new energy vehicles account for more than 82% of total number. .
