According to a press conference on Hainan’s economy, Hainan is to kick off a special tourism promoting campaign in the second half of 2013.

During the upcoming peak tourist season, the Hainan government is planning to organize a tourism promotion group to promote the province's special tourism products to several important domestic tourism markets including Guangdong, Xiamen, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Meanwhile the Hainan Tourism Development Committee will send a Hainan tourism promotion delegation to attend international tourism exhibitions and hold Hainan winter tourism promotion conferences in South Korea, Russia, Southeast Asia and other overseas tourist markets.

Besides, the Hainan government will purchase a great deal of tourism advertising in the local and online media of the above regions.

According to the deputy director of Hainan Tourism Development Committee Chen Tiejun, the number of flights from South Korea to Hainan is to be increased from 2 to 6 each week in July and is expected to reach 9 each week in October.

In addition, Busan-Haikou chartered flights, chartered flights from Russia to Hainan and connecting flights from Hainan to major tourist source countries in Europe will be added in the second half of the year.
