Height of buildings in Sansha City to be limited to under 20 meters
The municipal government of Sansha has issued regulations on the urban-planning and development management of the Xisha islands.
According to the regulations, buildings across the Xisha islands should not exceed 20 meters in height and should be constructed with tropical island characteristics so as to fit in with the natural scenery.
Sansha, the largest city in terms of administrative area in China, is made up of hundreds of islands. At present, the construction of Sansha city is mainly centralized in Yongxing Isalnd, Zhaoyu Island,Jinqing Island and Yagong Island.
According to the regulations, building materials and construction equipment must be inspected before being shipped to the islands. The regulation also applies to the Zhongsha Islands and Nansha Islands.
