According to the government of Sansha city, the Xisha islands’ inter-island passenger ship “Ganquan Island” will be soon to be opened for public use, and will be free for soldiers and local residents on the islands.

With a tonnage of 161 tonnes, the ship has a total length of 35 meters and can carry around 20 passengers. It can reach a top speed of 16 knots.

After being put into operation, the ship will be dispatched to travel around all of the Xisha islands at least once a week, in order to meet the supply and transport needs of the islands.
