Hainan East-Ring Railway to add 3 pairs of bullet trains for summer holiday
With the fast approach of the summer vacation, Hainan East-Ring Railway is planning to add 3 pairs of bullet trains to meet the greater demand.
3 pairs of bullet trains running between Sanya Station and Haikou Station (Hainan East Station) will be added to the current 25 pairs starting from July 1st. Besides, the railway station will adjust its bullet train schedule to offer 28 full pairs of bullet trains on weekends or travel peak periods.
According to the Hainan railway authority, as well as the 5 existing ordinary trains including Sanya-Beijing West T202/1, Haikou-Shanghai K512/1, Haikou-Changsha K408/7, Haikou-Xi’an K1168/7 and Haikou-Chengdu K486/5, 6 pairs of ordinary trains (K1122/1) running from Haikou to Harbin will be added on July 1st.
Most passengers are students or sightseeing tours visitors. The student passenger flow is expected to peak in early July and mid-August during summer vacation period.
Sanya Railway Station is expected to transport 2.13 million passengers during the summer vacation and the daily average passenger flow is expected to reach 34,000.
