Indian Hotels Co. Ltd, a unit of the Tata Group that runs the Taj Group of Hotels, said on Tuesday that it would build four hotels in China in the next two years, including the Taj Temple of Heaven in Beijing in 2014.
It will also open a hotel on Hainan Island, a tourist destination in China, the company said in a statement.
Chinese premier Li Keqiang is staying at Taj properties in New Delhi and Mumbai on his current visit.
“The Taj has had a long association with China and we look forward to deepening our relationship with the country,” managing director and chief executive officer Raymond N. Bickson said.
