The China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) has been innovating over the past 16 years and has evolved into one of the most influential fairs for international investment. It has strengthened cooperation with prestigious institutions in China and abroad this year.
 
The fair is the biggest of its kind for investment promotion, certified by the Union of International Fairs (UFI). It invites foreign capital and helps Chinese companies go global. In addition, it also gives foreign companies an opportunity to attract investment. Cities across China and more than 50 countries and regions around the world will attend to promote hundreds of business opportunities.
 
The UNCTAD, UNIDO, OECD, IFC and WAIPA will be sponsors of the fair this year. The UNCTAD will attend the 2013 International Investment Forum to discuss remodeling the global value chain. The IFC will put investors together and match them up with business opportunities. Moreover, the WTO will make its debut at the CIFIT as a co-organizer and hold an investment and service trade forum.
 
Every year, many international economic organizations attend the fair and hold various activities. For example, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat will hold the Pacific Islands Forum during the fair.
 
Forums will be a highlight in the fair. The ASEAN small and medium-sized enterprises forum jointly held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ASEAN Secretariat and Fujian province will invite many ASEAN officials to interact with audiences. The Global Entrepreneur Summit held by the Financial Times will invite many CEOS from global multinational corporation to give speeches, and many famous companies and entrepreneurs will attend. The 12th Taiwan, HK and Macao Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar, jointly held by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong and Macau Chamber of Commerce, will focus on the modern service industry and low carbon environment. More than 100 outstanding entrepreneurs will be on hand.
 
At the same time, the fair organizing committee will hold other innovative activities, such as recognizing the “Guest-of-Honor Country,” “Guest-of-Honor Province,” “Star City,” “Pavilion Day” and “Company Day.” South Africa will roll out a series of business invitation projects as the first “Guest-of-Honor Country” to showcase the fruits of its 15-year economic trade with China. The US delegation will hold a big “Pavilion Day,” and Hainan province and Zhangzhou city will appear as a “Guest-of-Honor Province” and “Star City,” respectively.
