Microsoft to cultivate more local talent in Hainan
At the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference 2013, Microsoft reached an agreement with the Hainan Government to build an innovation center in the region.
The Microsoft innovation center, as the first of its type in China, is to be based in Sanya and is expected to help cultivate more than 20,000 local IT talents over the next 3 years.
The new property will focus on IT development and skills in tourism and agriculture and extend to other fields including the marine and fishery industries.
According to the cooperation agreement, as well as becoming a gathering point for the exchange of knowledge, Microsoft hopes that the joint efforts will boost Hainan’s efforts to become a major international tourist destination.
