The 2012 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) China Division is going to be held from August 9th to 12th at Haikou International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Established in 2003, the WRO is one of the largest international robotic competitions, providing a platform for young students to learn and apply their knowledge in science, engineering, math and computer programming to build an intelligent robot.

So far, the WRO event has been successfully held for 8 eight years. The competition will be conducted in three different age groups: elementary, junior and senior. All participants are required to compete in teams to assemble the robots based on given themes.

It is estimated that 20 outstanding teams will be selected to represent China at the World Robot Olympiad Final in Malaysia in November.
