Hainan to implement diversified strategy for global tourism promotion
Hainan Tourism Authority will implement a diversified strategy to advertise its tourism to the world over the next 5 years.
The government will continue to push to increase its domestic tourism market with a focus on the Yangtze River Delta region, the Pearl River Delta area and the Pan-Bohai Sea region.
Besides, the government will promote itself as a tourist destination in overseas countries such as Russia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, the United States and Canada to enlarge the overseas tourism market, in the hope that, by 2017, the number of international tourists visiting the island will have increased to account for 5% of the total tourist arrivals.
Meanwhile, local tourism agencies will join hands with the national tourism administration to open 18 representative offices abroad and a wider international airline network will be established to introduce Hainan’s tourism to more foreign visitors.
