2012 World Celebrity Pro-Am in Haikou announces stronger star lineup
China’s Mission Hills has recently announced a list of sporting stars and international celebrities for the World Celebrity Pro-Am to be held from October 18th-21st at Mission Hills in Haikou.
They include former NBA Star Yao Ming, who will be the event’s Charity Ambassador, Brazilian football superstar Ronaldo, former world No.1 snooker player Stephen Hendry, past Masters Champion Ian Woosnam and former Chinese gymnast Li Ning.
Other famous celebrity participants who have confirmed their attendance include famous film directors Feng Xiaogang and He Ping and actors Wang Zhiwen, Chan Daoming, Zhang Guoli, Sun Nan, Leon Lai, Coco Lee, Charlie Young and Simon Yam
Founded in 2010, the Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am has become one of the three world Pro-Am tournaments alongside Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and Dunhill Championships.
This year, the tournament will adopt new rules to make it more challenging and interesting. The list of other big names to participate in the event will be announced in the coming months.
According to the organizing committee, professional golfers will compete for a prize purse of US$1 million dollars.
