New road proposed to link Baoting and Haitang Bay

A deputy to Hainan’s top advisory body has proposed the construction of a new road linking Baoting and Sanya Haitang Bay.

The new route will originate in the downtown center of Baoting and stretch to Haitang Bay, Sanya (including a 15-km road connecting Sandao Town and Haitang Bay).
 
The new route is of strategic significance in greatly boosting the development of the Qixianling Hot Spring National Forest Park and helping explore other scenic spots like Sandao Bay and Xian’an Cave in the south.
 
The construction of the new route will also boost the local agricultural economy along the road as Baoting is an agricultural county, where its off-season tropical fruits and vegetables are always sold to the mainland.
