On the evening of January 18, 2013, the Li and Miao Ecological Cultural Tourism Area of Ganza Ridge Areca Valley (Binglanggu Valley for short) celebrated its 15th anniversary as a tourist attraction with a campfire party event that entertained the public and tourists.

After years’ of reconstruction and large investment, the Binglanggu Valley has shifted from an ordinary Li and Miao village area into one of the popular tourist attractions in Sanya since its opening in 1998.

The number of tourist arrivals to the scenic spot has been steadily increasing and its large-scale original and ecological Li and Miao real-scene dancing performance ‘Binglang Rhyme’ has been listed as one of the 2012-2013 key national cultural export. Besides, other intangible cultural heritage villages and other new sites are under construction.

According to the Binglanggu Valley officials, their short-term goal is to build the area into a national 5A scenic spot, as well as an internationally popular vacation destination in the long run.
