The Boundary Island in Wanning, Hainan recently passed its assessments and was upgraded to a national 5A scenic spot by the Evaluation Committee for Quality Grades of National Scenic Spots on January 16. 、

It is the first national 5A sea-island scenic area and the fourth scenic spot in Hainan Province to be rated as a national 5A scenic spot after Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone, Daxiaodongtian Scenic Area and Yanoda Tourism Zone.

Boundary Island is the earliest uninhabited islet development area in Hainan. To improve tourism products for visitors, the scenic spot has invested 180 million yuan in the last 2 years into upgrading its public toilets, tourist information center, catering facilities, marinas, dolphin bay and public parking area.

In 2012, the scenic spot received a total of 5,400,000 tourists, with the number of individual visitors increased by 30% over the previous year, reaching a record high in the year.
