Hainan is planning to expand the use of new energy vehicles and will have a total of 10,000 new energy vehicles by 2015.

To promote the use of the new energy vehicles, Hainan will have additional investment of 10 billion yuan in the production of car parts ranging from charging facilities, logistic, business services to car maintenance.

By 2015, the government plans to build 3.068 charging stations to support the development of new energy vehicles. Besides, they will further enhance the proportion of the new energy vehicles for official use in order to boost the development of the green industry.

As one of the ten cities in a pilot program to promote the new energy vehicles, Haikou is scheduled to pilot the use of 1,100 new energy vehicles over next three years.
