Sansha City will be developed into a low-carbon model city in the near future, aiming to provide support for the development of the national ocean strategy.

Covered by an investment exceeding 300 million yuan by China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., the plans for a low-carbon Sansha will be realised in three to five years.

Yongxing Island and Zhaoshu Island are under the scope of this project which will focus on land utilization, green landscapes, anti-disaster emergency construction, low-carbon transportation and intelligent systems.

The project, which makes full use of solar and wind energy, aims to promote low-carbon urban consumption and improve the quality of life of the island residents. More energy-efficient household appliances and low-carbon public transportation will be introduced on the island.
