Hainan regulates ticket prices of scenic spots for 2013 CNY holidays
In order to promote tourism consumption and tourism industry development, Hainan Provincial Price Bureau recently issued clear regulations on the ticket prices of scenic spots for the Chinese New Year holidays.
The government encouraged scenic spot operators to set seasonal ticket prices in accordance with the changing number of tourists in different seasons to reduce the travel crowding in the peak season.
Scenic spots are allowed to offer preferential prices for tickets, accommodation and catering during major events and holidays as well as preferential package tours between different tourist attractions.
Scenic spots relying on natural and cultural resources, including public museums, memorial halls, educational bases for the fostering of patriotism, leisure parks and science museums, are being asked to gradually open to the public for free.
These preferential measures for scenic spots should be announced one month in advance to the public after being approved by local price departments.
