China, ASEAN to work for common interest at S. China Sea, set code of conduct

China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will keep working on establishing the code of conduct in the South China Sea, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Friday.
"China and the ASEAN have agreed to maintain dialogue on the foundation of the earnest and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea," Hong said in regards to the discussion of the code of conduct in the South China Sea.
Hong said the two sides will create conditions for negotiation and consensus to reach an eventual code of conduct.
