Recently, the Hainan (Taipei) Travel Service Centre jointly established by the Hainan government and Lion Travel Agency Co. Ltd of Taiwan held its unveiling ceremony in Taipei.

Nowadays, Hainan has become one of the most popular tourist destinations for Taiwanese tourists. By September 2012, Hainan had received a total of 113,300 visitors from Taiwan, up 9.68% compared with the same period of last year. There are 19 flights operating between Taiwan and Hainan per week. Taiwan has become the main tourist source market of Hainan.

The Hainan (Taipei) Travel Service Centre is located in the storefront of Taiwan University. The centre will show visitors a variety of rich Hainan tourist resources and provide the latest tourism information to help more Taiwanese people gain a better understanding of Hainan.

An official of the Hainan Tourism Development Commission said that the government will take advantage of its location to organize all kinds of activities for tourist communication between Hainan and Taiwan college students, especially given the potential market of the young people in Taiwan.
