China's first Air Service Station was officially established in Dongfang city of Hainan recently, and began trial operations.

The station offers the island a range of aviation services such as official approval on flying schemes, meteorological data and flying assistance in flight operations in order to further the reliability, efficiency and safety of the general aviation flights.

With an important role in managing low-altitude airspace, which includes airline information broadcasts and aircraft-on-ground communication services, the station will provide services for general aviation flights on the island and surrounding offshore areas.

According to local authorities, the project construction and pilot operation will improve the island’s aircraft industry to benefit the international tourism island by enhancing its comprehensive competitiveness.
