According to the officials of the Commercial Department of Hainan Province, thanks to the policy that forging Hainan into an International Tourism Island, the amount of Hainan foreign-invested enterprises has grown steadily in recent years. High operational efficiencies and continuously increasing investment scale have also help promote the development of relevant industries.

 

In 2012 annual inspection of foreign-invested enterprises, statistics showed that more than 1000 foreign-invested enterprises' businesses are doing well.

 

In the first half of this year, a new batch of 34 foreign-invested enterprises settled in Hainan, up 9.68% compared with the same period of last year. These new enterprises are mainly in the tertiary industry, involving wholesales, retails, lease and business services, etc.

 

The number of primary and secondary industries invested by foreign capitals only stood at 38% with the rest went to tertiary industry. Among them, the real estates sector involving foreign capitals accounted for 73% of total figure.

 

In terms of the regional distribution, the foreign-invested enterprises mainly concentrate in the southeast coastal cities and counties. Currently, there are 888 enterprises settled in Haikou, Sanya, Qionghai, Wenchang, Wanning, and Lingshu.
