Hainan has become an island for concentration of 5-star hotels, international famous hotel group still remains optimistic about the development potential of Hainan tourism market. Recently, Marriott Group announced that they will open 7 new 5-star hotels in hainan over the next three years in Beijing.
 
At present, Marriott Group has set up Sanya Ritz-Carlton hotel, Sanya Marriott Resort and Sanya Renaissance Resort. For the upcoming three years, the group will open 60 new hotels in China, among which seven hotels will be settled in hainan. Marriott group will put more emphasis on northern regions of Hainan.
 
The 7 new 5-star hotels include Haikou Marriott Resort (in 2013), Renaissance Boao Resort and Hotel (in 2015), The Ritz-Carlton Haikou Mission Hills Resort(in 2016) and The Renaissance Haikou Mission Hill Resort.
 
According to Hainan tourism authorities , Hainan already has 22 listed five-star hotels. By 2015, a large number of new hotels will be built in Hainan, most of which are high grade four-star, five-star and even seven–star hotels.
