Zhongshui Modern Fisheries celebrates grand opening in Hainan

On the afternoon of October 22nd, a grand ceremony was held to celebrate the official launch of Hainan Zhongshui Modern Fisheries Co.,Ltd. Vice governor of Hainan province Chen Zhirong and chairman of China Agricultural Development Group Co.,Ltd Liu Shenli jointly attended the opening ceremony.

The newly established company is a joint venture between Hainan Nanhai Modern Fishing Group and China National Fisheries Corporation, a subsidiary of China Agricultural Development Group Co.,Ltd. It has plans to push ahead with the development and utilization of fishery resources in the South China Sea. Over the next three to five years, it is estimated that the company will have more than 100 fishing boats, with an annual output rising to 70,000 tons of fish products.

The provincial government and China Agricultural Development Group Co.,Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement on March 1st ,2012. As the largest state-owned agricultural enterprise group in China, the China Agricultural Development Group has an important influence in the industry. The two sides have broad prospects and space for cooperation in promoting a new round of development of the Hainan fishing industry.

According to reports, the company will vigorously develop modern fishery and make efforts to promote more fishery modernization. More factory ships with extensive on-board facilities for processing and for freezing caught fish are said to be being put into service, with the aim of achieving mutual benefits between the company and fishermen.

In addition to this, the company will strengthen project planning and construction in order to make a contribution to the development of the Hainan fishing industry. It will also earnestly implement the agreement to promote the implementation of Hainan modern fishing science and technology industrial park and other cooperative projects.
