Mohammad Saufi Mat-Senan from Terngganu Cycling Team became the first rider to cross the finish line after 3:35:14 at stage 2 of Tour of Hainan on Sunday.

Alexender Serebryakov from Team Type 1-Sanofi settled for the second place of the stage, but took the yellow jersey after finishing on top in the general standings.

Benjamin-Giraud from La Pomme Marseille came in third.

"It was a close victory for the racing, but a victory nonetheless," said the stage winner.

Mat-Senan also won the blue jersey, while the green jersey went to Serebryakov for leading the sprints classification. China's Wang Meiyin from Hengxiang Cycling Team still keeps the polka dot jersey.

A total of 140 riders from 20 cycling teams participated in the second stage starting from Wanning to Wenchang with the distance of 145.6km.

Stage 3 will be from Wenchang to Haikou on Monday with the distance of 194km.
