Leonid Krasnow from Rusvelo Team wins 1st stage of 2012 Tour of Hainan
Leonid Krasnow from Rusvelo Team become the first rider to cross the finish line at the first stage of the 2012 Tour of Hainan on Saturday.
Krasnow, 24, touched the finish line in a time of 2:35:46 followed by Alexender Serebryakov from Team Type 1- Sanofi and Joeri Fernand Stallaert from Landbouwkrediet- Euphony who also clocked at 2:35:46.
With the victory, Krasnow snatched the yellow jersey and also the green jersey representing the king of sprint. Chinese rider Wang Meiyin from Hengxiang Cycling Team kept the polka dot jersey.
Krasnow told the press that it's the first time in career for him to wear yellow jersey and he added that the success in sprint phase was the key to win the stage.
The Tour has 9 stages and nearly 1,446 km to cover before it ends in Sanya on Oct. 28. The second stage from Wanning to Wenchang will be held on Sunday.
