Wenchang Qinglan Bridge set to open for traffic by end of Sept
Construction of Qinlan Bridge in Wenchang City, Hainan is near completion. The bridge is expected to open for traffic by the end of this September.
As the city’s pioneering transport project, the bridge is also the supporting facility for the Hainan rocket and satellite launch base. Its construction has grabbed attention from all circles.
Located to the southeast of Wenchang, Hainan, the Qinglan Bridge crosses Qinglan Bay and connects Qinglan Town and Dongjiao Town.
The bridge, spanning a length of 1,828 meters, has a two-way six-lane motorway with a designed speed limit of 80 km/h. The bridge is considered to be China’s most resistant bridge as it is built with such durability that it could resist an 8.5 magnitude earthquake.
The total investment of the project is 595 million yuan. Other projects like sea-crossing bridges and coastal tourism express roads are speeding up construction and will be completed by the end of this year
