Relocation plan of Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park gets approval
Recently, the plan to relocate Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park has been passed through to be evaluated by the experts group on the environmental impacts of such a move.
Located at the Nanlishan Area of Xinpo Town in Haikou, the whole project covers a land area of nearly 7,938 Mu with a tropical wildlife park occupying an area of 5,576 Mu. It is estimated that 3 billion yuan is needed for the entire project.
According to the plan, the park will be built into an ecological leisure park by combining the protection of animals, tourism, with natural science education and research.
The former Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park was officially open to tourists in 1996. Due to the limited managing conditions that hinder its development, local government decided to relocate the park to Xinpo Town, decided upon as an ideal site after an investigation conducted by local experts.
Experts indicated that its building work will not destroy any of the region’s trees or grassland, according to the requirements set by the municipal government.
